Default Neomoorea wallisii repotting help needed

I found a small snail hanging out on my neomoorea wallisii and decided to repot. My plan was just to dump old media, clean the roots up and put the plant back in the same pot. However, when I pulled the plant out, I found an old rotting p-bulb down in the media and the remnants of what looks like a second, long ago rotted p-bulb nearby.

The newest plant growth seems to be coming from this rotted p-bulb mass. If I cut the nearly decayed bulb out, this little growth will come with it. It has new roots so I don't want to lose it.
