Did I mess up repotting this Phalaenopsis?

Hi everybody,

I just tried my hand at reporting my phals after much reading and watching many videos on the topic. I bought a 7" pot because it seemed so big, but after trimming the dead roots I realized that the 7" was much too big. I then had to opt for a smaller pot that I had on hand.

Now some of the roots that had been inside the media are on the outside. Is that okay or should I repot again once I get an appropriately sized pot?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
