L.A. source for NZ sphag?

Does anyone know a source for kilo or half kilo bricks of long strand NZ sphagnum moss in Los Angeles that is not Yamada in Gardena? They are out of stock with no restock date in sight.

Have you tried Cal-West? not sure if they have the size your looking for, but worth a try.

I'm trying to avoid shipping. The 500g bricks were like $15 at Yamada without any shipping. it was great.

I'm looking for a local source that I can drive to and pick it up whenever I need it. I am familiar with mail order sources. But thanks anyways.

Maybe if you call Cal-West they can give you the name of somebody they wholesale to closer to where you live?

Yesterday, in the garage, I opened a zip lock bag and found a very overgrown pot of live Sphagnum moss. Reminded me of this... Crisis at Ferroseed Research.

Sphagnum is pretty darn easy to grow. I wonder how many buckets of it I would need to keep in the garage and house in order to have a sustainable supply of the stuff.

Honestly, when I want sphagnum, I just buy the stuff sold at Lowe's. I know the New Zealand stuff is kind of "a thing" but the stuff at Lowes never disappoints me. USA sourced I think.

I have looked at the Zoo-Med sphagnum in the past, and it just isn't up-to-par with the Besgrow stuff.
