Hi y'all, was ordering some orchids and decided to get a "Grower's Choice." I received a 3" pot Gilded Tower 'Mystic Maze' in bud. Cool!

She has started to bloom so going to enjoy the flowers and forget about repotting her for a while.

Pictures forthcoming...

Does the S/H meant you are going to pot it that way after it blooms? Waiting for pics.

Going to repot it S/H after it blooms and when the time is right for the chid. The roots are so long and crazy, thought it would be a good candidate.

The lowest bud on Mystic Maze has turned yellow. So excited!!

Will post pics as the blooming progresses...

Repotting should be done just as new roots are emerging from the bases of new growths; those old roots - as nice as they may be - are likely to fail and decompose once you're moved it into S/H culture, so those new roots will be necessary to support the plant.

Ray, thanks for chiming in. Have read up on all info on your site. Thanks for sharing with us.

There are two pbulbs on this chid. One ready to bloom, and a smaller one doing what I think is sending out new roots. The new root is in the lower kinda center of the pic., it's a little over an inch long. There is a small nubbin also coming out on the opposite side of the new bulb.

The buds getting ready to open. Sorry about the fuzzy pic...

This will be my first bloom on any orchid, (got it last week) don't want to mess with the mojo right now. Will wait for a better time to S/H her.
