I have always wanted an excuse to throw pots! I love pottery. My community college has a pottery class. Maybe it is time to get back into it.
I really like your first one.

Always nice to see someone having a go at crafts.. It's a bonus when you can acually use what you make.

Orchid roots will still attach, glazed or not. And ceramic glazes, if they contain pigments, can be poisonous to orchids. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but you don't want nasty surprises.

I've been designing a kind of inner cone tube kind of pot which I will make of ceramics. I think I will make it in clay and make a mold to make more of porceline.I really need hanging pots that look better than plastic. I love the 70s look of hand made pottery. When I get my green house room going, I want the patchulli-hippy look. Pappasan chairs, macrame, candles, a hot tub made out of an old barrel, etc.

I know, but you can get food safe glazes and I checked that out. Do you think it wouldn't matter at all if the inside is glazed or not?
Sounds like a reasonable list Optimist.

It's not necessarily a safe bet to use a food-safe glaze. Ceramic glaze pigments are all metallic, and orchids are much more sensitive to metals than people are. Besides, I still see Cobalt Blue listed as food safe, when in fact it is toxic to people. Don't put anything acidic into blue glazed ceramic!
Iridescent glazes are usually toxic to orchids.

Very nice!
I keep most my orchids in glazed pots and never once encountered a problem.
