This behemoth arrived today...described as bare root 8.5 pot ready to be divided and repotted...dear Lord, I was totally unprepared for this!!

Had to run to get pots for division as I thought what I had would do...nope. Divided it into 4 plants, 6 pbulbs for 3 and 4 on one...took quite some time! Gave one division to neighbor that actually had bud sheath. Hope it will bloom after all that trauma! Cost me $17.00 pls about $7.00 S/H!

Wow, I kind of understand this one. I had gotten a big Catt like this and it was suppose to come bare root. However it came in a pot that needed a re-pot. I had a terrible time finding a pot big enough to put it in.

I'm lucky it was in the pot as I just left it until I could find a pot. I had a bad time re-potting it and broke off 2 new starts. But it is looking pretty good now.

Yeah, pot would have made me feeling much less urgent...and a smaller plant would have too. I'm not complaining, mind you!! . So I soaked it in some diluted seaweed/fish fertilizer for about 15 minutes, then a quick rinse fresh water and here they are...less the one with the bud sheath given to neighbor. Ooooh, I hope they're gonna be okay!!!!

6, 8 and 4 inch pots, respectively

Yes it did help. I wanted to leave mine as one big plant so it would make a big display if it ever does. I may have to split it one of these days and I will go into panic once again.
