Default Miltassia to vertical, is there a way to fix?

Good evening everyone,

I have this Miltassia, he is one of six, I decided to repot this guy today. Partly cause he was climbing out of his pot, and I found a mature pair of mealys in the crook of one of his leaves.
So I go through the routine of soaking cleaning and so on, in the process noticed 3 of his 5 back bulbs almost covered with his mix. I didnt think that was ok but I guess it is according to a post in the beginners forum. Is it what would happen in the wild if so so be it.
What I really wanted to as since he is large, can the rysome (think that is how its spelled) placed horizontally like say a Ludisia, or is that strictly forbidden? I was thinking something of a bowlish style
This is the pot he was in still had plenty of room, but he felt the need to leave I guess.
I dont really want to split him, I have not had good week, had to put a dozen of orchids down this week. Sick plants. Plus these Miltassias are the reason I started collecting , this is second one I bought in my collection, I then bought 4 more and off I went, lol. Yes there very sentimental to me and want them to grow big and strong, like want to in orchid growing.
Any ideas, thoughts, remarks are all wanted wether positive or negative. Just looking for true feedback. He is in Physan atm, look forward to the replys
I want to Thank everyone for their input, in the past, present, and future, THANK YOU!

I will put picks up on my gallery, this thing keeps it cant do it due to low memery, have no idea what 5hat means

I do try to repot the rhizome at least a bit more horizontally - tho it can make the plant look a bit odd ...
