I suppose availability might occasionally be an issue. But another issue, particularly in the United States as well as Canada, is the possible transport of critters like Dendroctonus ponderosae, which is a serious pest and an ecological and commercial disaster waiting to happen. That's why many states have regulations limiting the transportation of firewood, etc. from one location to another. Just one more thing that should be considered.
