Wow, you can keep that much heat! but I'd like us to warm up a bit...the farmers are gonna start getting cranky if it doesn't warm up soon!

We have a freeze warning for tonite! That means I have to drag all of my outside plants back in! UGH!
We have been having 100 degree weather and this past week its been getting down to 45 at night! Everything is in bloom or is about to bloom here and we are getting cold temps. I swear mother nature has lost her marbles this year.

Mother nature sure has something going on...it's been so chilly here, we've needed the furnace on (but I refuse to cut anymore wood this season, so we're just cold! LOL). My boston fern outside is doing great tho, it's loving this cold wet weather...for now!

kindrag, me too! But with the rain we've been having (not 6 inches, but still it's much needed!) the wet and cold combined has me covered up in hoodies and jeans and long pants and a blanket when i'm at home and that doesn't happen in winter! HAHA i'm like you, shorts and tee shirt, or long pants and a tee shirt!

Well, as I was afraid of, no one in my area carries orchid potting medium . So I'm going to just order some from repotme. That will actually be quicker because I'm not planning a trip to either 'big' city where I could probly find some.

We are back to better temps now! So thankful! It started yesterday, temps hovering to 90's slowly going to mid 80's but the humidity, my first time to see it go to just 2% and 3% around noontime. I was glad I watered my plants early in the morning! As the delta breeze continued on, humidity restored to 44% by night fall.

Hope you get your new media soon!

Yes, better temps here as well!!

I worked outside all day yesterday. I hate bricks and rocks (which if you dig down about 2 inches anywhere in my yard, that's what you will find!). I'm doing a succulent bed in front of my house, on the southside. Should be awesome when I get it done.

The next time you head into "the big city" (which I'm assuming means Chicago) you might want to stop by Hasuermann's orchids. You can probably pick up more bark there, for a lot less money. I love repot me, but shipping from them is kinda spendy. You can probably get a much larger bag of whatever you need from Hausermann's, and save a lot compared to buying small bags from repot me.

And... you will also probably leave with several orchids in your hands too. I've heard this happens when one walks through the doors at Hausermann's... it's like they just leap into your arms and won't let you leave without them.
