has anyone seen these new pots ? i really want to try one out - just a bit pricey though. they are on repotme.com
but what a great idea, the sides are all spikes and slightly bendy so that when the roots grow through them, you can lift it straight out. i guess the only catch would be the roots growing through the bottom holes, which mine also tend to do...
but anyway i love the idea. ( but not the cost ouch)

They now come in two sizes. I have the larger one and I have my long lived, much maligned Phalaenopsis growing in it. The price is prohibitive--you can buy a couple of orchids for the price of the pot. I would buy more of these pots because they do allow very good air penetration to the roots. There are much cheaper alternatives.

It looks like repotme actually have them in 3 sizes! I have a couple of the larger ones available in the UK, but I think that might be the middle size compared to the ones on repotme.

I don't quite use them as designed though, I use them for a version of S/H growing. The saucer which they come with makes a great reservoir and the roots get a great amount of air.

In the house I always use outer cache pots outside the inner plastic pot. When you take into account the cost of decorative cache pots and the fact your don't need them with these then the cost (in the UK) is about comparable.

I did not realize they offered three sizes: 3.75", 5.25" and 7.00" pots. It is still a lot for a pot.
