I really want to emphasize the cooler temps do mean less watering. Here in the desert, I have nearly 50% humidity in the first week of December. In the Summer, June or July it is about 10% humidity if that. Right now, I can water like a regular orchid, and water every week. When it is hot, I need to provide a lot of additional humidity, and water every 2 days or less.

That is quite a difference.
Which is why skewers are so helpful (to me, at least). I have plants that get watered at least 3xs a week in summer, go more than a week in winter in-between waterings.
