"cow horn" schomburgkia potting question 2

I have these pieces of schom. and was thinking of using better gro orchid moss, and a square cedar basket to pot them in until their roots system became good enough to mount. Would this be okay? or should I just leave them in their net pots with the better gro special mix/some sphagnum moss mix....

Their roots are so tiny right now I truly don't want to try and mount them just yet with out sufficient roots to attach to the mount...
