Holc. wangii

I bought my Holc. wangii last year and it rewarded me with 8 blooms this year.
It seems happy and is growing in a 2 1/2" clay pot. There are 2 plants in there & I would like to re-pot, separate them & mount one. The flower are fading now, is this a good time to do this?
If you are growing these, is yours mounted or potted?

I have a fairly decent sized wangii which is mounted. It blooms for me twice a year. Late fall/early winter and then again early summer. It handles a lot of abuse, I have it getting quite a bit of sun and the leaves are a bit red in color. But it does quite well for me as long as I keep it watered in the heat.

Generally, Holcoglossums are pretty sturdy and will not be bothered much by repotting.

As long as you don't damage a ton of roots, you're fine to repot any time of the year.

It's many grower's preferences to repot upon the onset of new root growth though, if that's what you're looking to know. But like I said, with Holcoglossums, you can repot any time of the year as long as you take care not to do significant amounts of root damage.

You also don't need to wait until the flowers fade in order to repot. It is a preference of many growers, because they like seeing flowers, and the rigors of repotting can sometimes trigger certain types of orchids to drop their flowers. But if push comes to shove, and you gotta do what you gotta do, whether the plant is in bloom or not, you gotta repot and forego the flowers.
