Leave it alone. Take a long twisty tie and tie the growth over the edge of the basket. It will grab onto the side of the basket and sink its roots into the media. Be prepared you will eventually have to hang the basket because the lasio grows in multiple directions.
Here is a pic of mine from several years ago growing in a 6" plastic vanda basket. I thought I had a more current picture but I don't.

The plant now covers all sides of the basket and is making a second layer of growths on top of itself. I grow this is Catt light and it is kept very moist. It is grown in a g/h where the temp is never below 60. It starts blooming in late summer and blooms for months.
