I have a Bulb. Masdevalaceum that I purchased in a small square pot. New ones are spreading like notmal but the potting mexium is very low. So the new psudobulb is growing in an upward direction. Im afraid that if i do not repot it just just to get them closer to the pot surface it will be harder eventually to have a nice level growing area of p-bulbs. instead I will have a crazy looking plant with bulbs in the air. Ive heard these plants do not like being played with.... should i lift it and add some coconut hull to the very bottom and try to secure the rhizome closer to the mix? the p-buls is in the air about 2 inches... need Advice.
Thank you
The Bulbo is a natural climber and hard to contain. I currently have mine mounted. If you want to keep it potted, get a net pot, line the basket with sphag, put p'nuts in the bottom about 1/3 to 1/2 up the pot then the media, attaching the rhizome to the mix. When you get new pbulbs over the edge of the pot I tie them in place so the roots grow into the sphag .
This Bulbo needs lots of moisture and medium light and warmth.
Thank you, im hoping to setup a room eventually where i may be able to mount them but right now i dont have a way of keeping the best suitable moisture. But I see some people get their bulbos to look very nice in a pot and thats what I am eventually aiming for but with the condition it is is now i realize that may take some time to get them to organize. I will go ahead and repot then. Thank you!
