I've also recently repotted all my orchids and made sure that they (especially the Phalaenopsis ones) were in clear pots, after I did some research on the matter. I've actually also made air holes through the sides of the pots, so that the potting mix also stays more aerated.

I didn't want to order the slotted pots from repotme, as I suspect I'd have to pay extra delivery and import tax as I live in Europe. So I did it myself.

I agree with the statement that one can also see the roots and keep an eye on how healthy they are. I wish I'd done this sooner as I now have a lot of recovering orchids with only a few roots left. (Entirely my fault, I hadn't repotted them for years)

Make sure to never remove the aerial roots as these can help the orchid to recover if all the bottom roots root and die. Aerial roots may look unseenly but they are crutial for the orchid to bounce back. Ive also made holes in all my clear pots on the sides. The best youtuber i follow for advice is "missorchidgirl" very informative. Now all my orchids are recovering nicely. 😀
