Potted in sphagnum/leca
I just repotted my Phal. cornu-cervi that was overdue. Had it in a combo of sphagnum and leca 50/50 in a 4.5" clear plastic pot. I just had to get a pix of it after removing ALL the media it stood by itself on its roots !!! NOT ONE bad root there !!! Had to up it to a 6" pot and, of course, used the same fresh combo, 50/50.

Thanks Josh, Connie, and Cathy ! But it's been a tough cookie as far as blooming. I got it in Nov.'08 and it bloomed Feb thru June '09 and hasn't since ! I first read and/or heard that it needed low light so I kept it in low light. After about 1.5 years I heard it needs high light so I moved it up a bit. After this repotting I put it in the center of my Phal light fixture right up there as close as can be without being too warm on the leaves. So, I guess we'll see ! I'll give it another year or it's outta here !

That's a very impressive root system. It's funny that you posted this thread now. I was thinking to myself yesterday that a LECA/moss combination would be interesting to try. I guess you've answered my questions about that mix. Excellent growing job. Good luck with the blooms.
