Question Dgmra Winter Wonderland 'White Fairy' repot question

My Dgmra is due for a repot, but I'm totally not sure how to go about this. The roots don't have green growing tips now, the roots usually grow in the winter. Also, it usually flowers late Nov. to Dec. As you can see it grew quite a bit since I re-potted it 2 years ago. Problem is, it is trying to grow up--or maybe down a tree and I have it in several heavy pots to keep it from falling over. I have a ceramic orchid pot that would just be long enough for the entire plant. Should I use the long pot pictured? Is so, how deep should I pot the roots that are just hanging over the current pot--should I just let them rest on top of the media? Will this keep it from falling over?

And when should I repot, should I repot now or in the winter when the roots are growing?

Or do you have any altogether different potting solutions?

Just pot as usual - rhizome just below the surface of media, if you try to cover those roots it will be potted too deep. It shouldn't hurt the plant to repot now.

Thanks guys, I'll repot in the horizontal pot without covering the roots that are hanging over the current pot. Hopefully the plant won't be tipping the pot anymore.

These are quite robust growers, aren't they? Mine's also growing over the side of it's pot and roots growing up into the air.

They are really quick growers, but the trick seems to be getting them to bloom.
