Leaves on new large PHALS
Default Leaves on new large PHALS

Hello! I've watched these two PHALS for weeks at Lowes and they finally went to clearance. They've lost their flowers but their roots and leaves on the most part look great. I wanted to repot both tomorrow and wanted to know what I should do for these leaves.

Picture 1: Appears to have some kind of black spotting on the one leaf but do not see it anywhere else. Should I cut that one leaf off?

Picture 2: At the stem the leaf appears to have a cut in it..It appears to be a healthy leaf and is not falling off.. Should I just leave it alone?

Picture 3: There are some minor cuts like this on both.. Should I just put a little cinnamon on it?

If you have the chance to reply to help me, I would appreciate if you could address which leaf you are assisting with. Just by picture number.. It would help me out so much! I'm so thankful for this board and love reading all the helpful info. Thanks again! --Jenn

Hi Jenn and welcome to the Board!

I'll give this a shot and others will chime in with their thought too.

Picture 1: Appears to be old insect damage. As long as it doesn't spread just leave it alone.

Picture 2: Yup, just leave it alone. Leaves often split on phals like this. Plus, since it's an older leaf it will most likely shed soon anyway.

Picture 3: This is just normal mechanical damage. The plant has been moved, picked up, put down, etc. As long as nothing gets larger or spreads they are fine.

Hope this is of some help.

AL
