I must say that years ago I had clay for catts and loved it so I think I'll hunt down a supplier and put my catt order from Sunset Valley in them. They'll help prevent toppling too.

Just as a side comment on all the top heavy worries. I normally add a weight of sorts to the bottom of my big catt pots. You can also tape a larger weight or base to the bottom if you're not repotting. I've found the extra .50 or $1.00 spent on the weight solves (for the most part) the fall over problem.

Ha. I think the only "weight" for that is cutting your internet connection...

Well the main reason I'm using clay is not because of the weight but more because of the faster more even drying of the pot. With plastic I always have the problem that the top half of the pot is dry and the bottom is still wet.

I too like being able to see the roots, tho the clear pots do get a lot of algae in them if they aren't in a cache pot. Like someothers here, I have had better success with most Catt alliance in clay pots, tho it's a pain getting them out of the clay pots. Also depends on the media used - I do have a few Catt alliance potted in straight pumice in plastic pots that do great that way - but bark or coconut husk chips, I have better luck with in clay pots. That said, I'm sure there are plenty of people who do just fine with Catt alliance in plastic pots, clear or opaque
