Holy Oncidium!!!!
A while back I bought an onc. sphacelatum that was overgrown. I didn't really have time to mess with it, so it has sat for a few months. Well, I tore it apart and let the pieces sit for a week or so. Today was the day! After cleaning it up and getting rid of the bad bulbs I ended up with 13 pots of plant. All have at least 3 bulbs and most have 5 or more. Anybody need an onc????

13 POTS OF PLANT?
You didn't happen to take a picture of it before you divided, did you? I would love to see it!

I will take a look and see if I can find one. It was in an 8 inch pot and it was over 16 inches wide. I found bulbs that were completely burried in roots down in the pot. I think it was close to a foot above the pot rim.

Do you grow it in agreenhouse? there is a huge one at the Brooklyn Botanic garden.
I bought a bare root piece a couple of months ago or 3. Not doing much in my window.

No, I grow inside under lights. I can't take credit for its size, I just hope I did ok on the repot. It had about a billion roots.

Well, not much is going on at this point. I seem to have a hard time splitting these with no troubles. I do have several pieces left of it that are doing ok. Keeping my fingers crossed. Any advice on how to do it right would be great.
