Default A pot for Phalaenopsis species

Here is a basket (I have many of them), I'd like to pot 2 of Phal schilleriana, Phal fasciata, Phal violacea varietas coerulea in each basket.

Is it a good idea or this type of basket is not suitable for planting Phal's?

I put there an Xbox 360 controller to compare size.

Hi , If the basket is made of bamboo or wicker ? it won't last long enough. Also it looks to tall . I would not put 2 in a pot when small they would be ok but if all goes well they become fair size . happy growing !

I agree with gin. A regular pot (plastic or clay) would do well.

Why not leave them in the individual pots, place the pots in the basket and put a thin layer of sphagnum moss on the top. If you need a filler for the bottom to elevate the plants somewhat, you could use pieces of styrofoam or pebbles.

I wouldn't put the orchids directly into a wicker basket. You could put the orchids into a plastic pot, than into the basket. IF you where to do this I would put a tray on the bottom, in-between the basket and pot.

Also, if you are using deep pots, you want to make sure you don't get root rot. This will be your biggest challenge. So, one way I reduce the pot size is to put packing peanuts on the bottom. That is if your going with moss. Not needed if your going with med. bark.
