Noble Orchid potting questions and other 'housekeeping' subjects

Hi all!

New guy again... with a different orchid and another good problem to have.

My "Dendrobium Noble Orchid', when I got it only had 2 stems. that was almost a year ago.

It now has 6 stems, the new stems are super 'tender' to touch. The roots are starting to creep. (these are photo #1)

I'm wanting to replant it but I have a questions;

1. Is there a way to 'untagle' the new growth and separate it so I can take the four new stems, and 'rehome' them, or is that bad? I just don't want to kill it.
2. When the roots start to do this, is that when you know it's time to start looking for a bigger pot?
3. (last question not about rehoming) two of the leaves have a black spot on them... I'm still researching but like i said, I"m new... anyone has a resource they can throw my way I would be thankful.

You made two posts. Maybe a moderator can delete one.

It looks great.

The time to repot is when new roots are tiny, maybe 1-2 millimeters long. It's too late for this year. If you repot now you will badly damage the roots and it might not survive. Wait until the next time it grows roots. The medium looks good so it should be fine until next spring.

You can't separate the stems without lots of stem and root damage. I wouldn't recommend doing that. Just accept how it grows.

Black spots on Den. leaves are common, and rarely cause for worry in homes unless relative humidity is very high. If you mean the black area on the old leaf sheath right on the stem, that happens as the sheath dries out. As old leaves age and die they develop black, yellow and brown spots before they fall off.

Note also that nobiles like to be pot-bound. A large nobile orchid with lots of flowers is something awsome.
I would let your plant grow.
