With regard to the "green mold", it is just algae - harmless to the plant, an indicator that things are somewhat more damp that a Catt would like. When you repot (and I agree with ES, wait until you see just the start of roots) so that they stay somewhat drier, the issue will go away. So watch for the new roots. You want to pot just as they start (or a week or two before, if you can foresee the future

) so that they can grow into the new medium. Also, those very new little root tips are very fragile and if damaged they stop growing. So if you catch them just as they're starting, there will be more coming behind the ones that you see.
