That is why i have waited a yr...want to make sure I am safe with it. I have long gloves, mask to spare, goggles, and I am going to read more about it before I start. Thank South Park...Have you ever gone to glass for any of you s/h??

Hi early! I haven't drilled glass before. But looks like you're all set - with nice safety equipment etc. You're definitely going to get good at this!

A real trick is to do the drilling under water. Not only does it cool the glass, but the water chemically reacts with newly-exposed glass surfaces to make them more structurally stable, both of which reduce the tendency for cracking.

I'm not SouthPark, but I've been drilling glass for SH for years, probably a couple hundred. Broken two so far. Use a 3/4" diamond bit hole saw. Don't press down on the drill. Let its weight do the work. It's really not all that hard. Here's a link I put out about one way to drill glass that may help...

I've since switched to a pump sprayer for the water, but you need a second person to do that effectively.

i helped a buddy once make a glass bubbler for his aquarium. dumb idea (IMO) but he wanted to try we drilled 12 1/8" holes into 12 borosilicate tubes and we broke one.

there are diamond bits for the Dremel and they work- i find it harder to use the Dremel due to the way it is held but that is all preference.

drill under water in a shallow Tupperware and wear a rubber glove (like a dish glove) or nitrile glove if you have...go slow.
i like the ball shaped bits but the standard is the pointy cone. some people use a bit of tape to help the bit get purchase, i don't, again, try and see

as was said, never push or press...the drill does the work, you are just the jig

Keep in mind that glass drilling takes much longer than wood drilling. Don't rush or you will break things.
