Oh wow, I totally forgot about this thread, and it seems to taken on a life of its own, which is perfectly fine by me. But just if anybody is still interested, I decided to just throw together a combination of stuff I had on hand to make my Cym potting mix. I think it had coir, and some medium cork, coco husk chunks, and some chunky peat moss, and rice hulls, and I threw in a little medium bark, just for good measure. I honestly don't know if that is the exact composition, but it's close to that. It stays nice and evenly moist for a good period of time, and the roots are going crazy. I can see on the sides of the pots where the plastic pots are starting to bulge out a little where the big thick roots are pushing against the sides of the pots. They're growing great, so I think I did alright, but thanks for all the support!

Thank you for this Scott. Just curious - where did you source your rice hull? 😀 I am originally from the Philippines and we had a big stove in the “dirty kitchen” custom made for my Mom that used rice hull for fuel - inexpensive and efficient!

I just got it on Amazon at:
Amazon.com

It was like 28 dollars for a 5 pound bag. It's a big bag, but it doesn't seem inexpensive to me. Maybe you could find it cheaper somewhere else (or maybe 28 dollars for 5 pounds is cheap, I haven't bought a lot of it so I don't really know haha)
