Hmmmm.... dripping slightly at the base. That brings up potential and problem for what I want. Gotta scheme about that one.

Thanks DrDawn... I'll patiently await an update.

Is it possible that the stake is fired in a way that the water is only released at the bottom?

It kind of make sense since the original purpose of the stake would be to deliver water to a lower level to get the roots to grow deeper.

I was thinking about painting the bottom of the Kool log since the plants are on the sides there is no need for the bottom to be wet.

I made a Mark 2 version of the jungle log finally for some mini phals. Did a few things different on this one.

Used 2 terracotta pots, glued rim to rim with the bottom cut out of one. Hoping double the surface area of pot will get more water to the moss.

Soaked the moss overnight to get it softer and possibly easier to work with. Helped a little but sort of fell apart but could have just the piece I was working with.

Made sure to really pack the medium inside the net pot. No empty gaps to ensure maximum water retention to the moss outside.

After assembly, I soaked the whole thing overnight again to really charge it with water.

Attached the plants today, one from my collection and one that I picked up from Aldi for $6 yesterday

I'm hoping these changes help. I haven't had major issues with the first one but I have to fill it almost every day and I'd like to avoid that.

We'll see how it goes!
