Noot Fertilizer

I've noticed a trendy new company on social media called Noot. They've been selling fertilizer and have an upcoming husky mix medium, though curiously they've advertised it as "semi hydro from the tropics". The website is also over simplified and they don't show individual products or details, like the N-P-K numbers. Has anyone tried them out? I'm just really curious about their fertilizer products.

For orchids, my inclination would be to keep it simple... the major components, in low concentrations, should cover it. If you have very pure water, you can supplement with a calcium-magnesium formulation. But in general, orchids just don't need much of anything - 1/4 to 1/2 of whatever it says on the bottle. To me, this just looks like clever marketing, doubt very much that it would do anything to make the orchids grow better. (Fertilizer being the least important cultural factor)

While there is a lot to be said for getting plants, microbes and nutrients to work together, I am skeptical that they have come up with anything particulaly unique.

The "semi-hydro from the tropics" is pure BS, as they are merely marketing coconut husk chips at an elevated price - which of course, makes me more skeptical of the nutrient.

Will it work? Probably. Is it something special? I doubt it. Is it worth the price? Probably not.

I've had my phal for fourteen years using MSU fertilizer. I'm just curious about this one and what might actually be in it. I might sign up for the trial just to get a bottle and see.

I went to their website. Nothing has convinced me that this is more than a mix of composted ingredients and marketing. I have a PhD in geology, I have never heard of "humic shale" (they probably just mean shale with some organic matter in it).

If you looked at the analysis and are comfortable that it won't hurt your vegetables or non-epiphyte houseplants, give it a try. No idea if it would work on orchids. Worth the $9 a month price tag? I'd need some convincing.

I took hi-rez screen shots and the attachment feature here shrunk them down. How can I post them to a bigger size?

Just post them, as-is. The forum software will shrink them to fit and give the reader the option of viewing them full size.
