Lepanthes calodictyon - Orchid Board

Here are a few shots of the flowers on this one--it's been more or less in bloom continuously since I purchased it in Jan. 2007
This little guy likes it wet and shady. I bought it more for the leaves than the blooms (can you guess why?)

Boy! How did you do it! Mine hates me.

I had it mounted in a glass ball but it hated that. And I now have it on a stick. . .still hates it but it's doing better. I am down to ONE good leaf and one new one.

Maybe I should transplant it in sphag? What are your temps.

Edited to add. . .I didn't wait even three minutes before I ran and transplanted it in sphagnum and a little tree fern fiber. *OH Brother* lol

I bought mine mounted, but I plunged the entire thing (mount and all) into a pot--there's aliflor on the bottom 1" of the pot and then a layer of sphagnum over that (probably about 1" of moss); I leaned the mount on top of this on a diagonal. The pot that it is in stands in a saucer of water, and the whole thing has a plastic dome over it...most of the time. It hangs out on the windowsill over my kitchen sink. The window faces north, and the dome over the pot is translucent...so it's not getting a heck of a lot of light. Temps are whatever the house is at (in the winter I am 68F in the day and 55F at night)
I water and fertilize once a week. Other than that, I let nature run her course. Hope that this helps,

Many thanks! Yes, this is a big help.

I did add a few of the smaller balls of Hydroton to the botton of my little tiny pot and probably have about an inch of the sphagnum mixed with a pinch and a half of tree fern fiber.

Mine is in an Exo Terra tank. . .so good humidity and bright shade, I guess I'd call it, at least where I placed it. Lots of circulation. My temps are running warmer though. . .Right now, the temp is 79 and night temps are around 68. RO water and light fertilizer probably every other watering.

Thank you for your thoughts. . .hopefully mine will perk up and looks as nice as yours!

Might add a little low saucer of water for it to sit in. That would probably help the Hydroton keep cool and moist under the sphagnum. I might wait to see how moist it stays with a daily misting, first.
