Shannon where do you keep your Masdevallias and small orchids? How do you keep the humidity up? Very nice bloom, Masdevallias are one of my favorite mini orchids. I have Masdevallia erinacea and Masdevallia descendens.

I know I love them. I have had a struggle but I finally put them in my basement garage in one of those shelves with the plastic covering over it. I have a cool mist humidifier and a fan running 24-7. It stays nice and cool down there and they are so much happier. I am finally having some luck.

Spotless plant and flower. It's not luck; you know what you're doing.

Beautiful flower. I really really like masdevallias, and tried a couple times to find a way to grow them, but after killing 3 plants I came to the conclusion that I can't give them the cool temps they need, even for the temperature tolerant types.
I'm happy for you that you found a way to provide the conditions they need.

I know. I just wish I had done it before I lost a couple of them.

Thanks Camille. I think my temps weren't to bad upstairs but I coulldn't keep up the humidity. So they had to go downstairs. The upside they are much happier the downside I don't get to stare at them as much.
I have a couple more in bloom now will see if I get pictures.

I think the best option to grow them without having to be always vigilant about the environment is in a semi-closed terrarium with some kind of system to cool down...maybe, in a fresh location, with a small computer fan might be enough.
