Dracula Mopsus gnarly spotting

Hello,

So this is my first Dracula orchid and like my dad would say "I'm more lost then a fart in a whirlwind" so I need a little help!
Over the past 2 weeks these two gnarly spots started to appear and are growing in size rapidly. Any advise as to what it may be or how to stop the spreading??

I commend you for trying this in Fl. I've had 2 for sev. months and do experience the spotting. Besides keeping them as cool as possible,I think good air movement and plenty of moisture might make a difference.Those smarter than I will give you better advice. Good luck!

My Masdies occasionally do something similar- especially if I've accidentally allowed them to go dry and or too hot.

With something that spreads, I personally like to remove the leaf. The plant overall looks good and will drop that leaf soon anyway, might as well nip a possible infection in the bud.

Thanks for the advise I'll definitely be giving my plant a little hair cut tonight once I get home, should I do anything to the area I snip? Currently the temp is 95 so that could be a huge factor 🙄

I don't do anything special to the cut. They dry up really quick. I would just make sure to use a sterilized implement.

I might guess sunburn, followed by fungus invasion of the dead tissue. Is there any chance even a ray of sun hit those leaves?

Well when you're an outdoor grower in South West Florida then sometimes you just have to make some sacrifices!
The humidity does help out though a little bit with the moisture... it's been 99% the past few weeks 😳

Good luck with the plant. I have very little experience with Draculas, and when my Plueros show these symptoms I just cross fingers and hope it goes away. Don't take my advice on this occasion please.

Your'e little saying about being lost reminds me of one that gets used in Colombia. Translated it states

"...more disoriented than a nun gone night clubbing."

I'm guessing it's the heat also.
