Cryptocentrum peruvianum 'Star of Ecuador' CBR/AOS

This little mini 'Christmas Tree' orchid was recognized with an AOS award this past weekend. The CBR stands for Certificate of Botanical Recognition for a previously undescribed species of horticultural interest. The tiny mustard yellow star shaped flowers arise around the leaves that look like a pine tree. The whole plant is only 2 inches tall! I called the cultivar 'Star of Ecuador' in tribute to the World Orchid Congress that is coming in November of this year. Plant is grown in my cool tank.
