Default Masdevallia Macchu Picchu

Annual blossom for this nice hybrid, dark velvety violet, very hard to render properly on my DSLR! but this is a close to reality as I can get.

Very very nice! Mine is making a second bud on an old spike. Has your's ever done that?

Never seen it, but I usually cut the spike after the flower is done. I didn't know this one can be sequential! I will leave the stem this time!

Unpot, check the roots.
Also, are you keeping it too hot, or too dry? Do you see any disease issues on the leaves?

Lovely. Mine has 2 large spikes so hope to have blooms soon too.

cbuchman, they do seem to shed leaves when u-happy. As Tindomul suggested, they don't like excess heat or drying out too much. Mine seems to grow roots easily and not be fussy in the root zone, but I would check that.
