Default Masdevallia ayabacana care

Hello, I recently purchased one of these and I was wondering about some care information for it. What I am most curious about is how long the blooms last and how frequently it will bloom in a semi-cool environment. Thanks for reading

I've tried growing this before. Water issues were the death of it, not temperature. I kept it intermediate to warm but I never gave it a chance to dry out well. So eventually it did rot away. Where did you get yours from?

Mine came from a friend in my orchid society who sold it to me. If you have been looking for one maybe I can divide mine when it is bigger. Might be a few years though not sure how fast it will grow in my environment. Or maybe I can ask if she has more.

She told me that it could grow in my windowsill with bright shade and it was slightly more tolerant of warm temperatures. Its flower hasn't wilting yet so atleast I haven't killed it so far, though I'm nervous. I'm going to get a cool-growing mini greenhouse in a short time though and start growing draculas too

Thanks Purpoh. I am actually not sure if I have this one growing in my tank now or not. I got a shipment of several Masdies in this subgenus (Regalia) a while back. Not sure which ones survived.

I grow a lot of species masdies but not this one I grow. It's good that it is heat tolerate. That is the biggest problem for me. I don't have a cool area so I have to try and create it for each plant.
