Can Dracula come back from the dead ?
Default Can Dracula come back from the dead ?

Hi all
I was given some small 1 and 2 leaf divisions of a few Draculas. Some have made new growth but others failed and lost all foliage to leaf drop. I threw the failed pots for fear of further losses but now I'm wondering if it was possible for some re-incarnation.
Drac is the undead after all haha.
For what it's worth the failures were all either hitzii or erythrochaete. Three of each !!! Seems a bit much of a coincedence when all others such as vampyra ,gigas ,velutina etc, have all done o.k.
Regards Mark

I don't grow any Dracs, but I would think that it's possible that the growth, while leafless, might not be dead.

Hopefully some members that have experience with the genus will chime in.

Is it all dead, or just mostly dead?

Mrs Premise: Yes! It wouldn't keep still, wriggling about howling its head off.

Have to admit that Miracle Max is closer to the mark. Regarding Dracula, if there is green, there is still hope. If you stake the plants, I suggest plastic instead of wood.

All foliage leaf dropped but wondered if it was possible to come back from roots as perrennials would. Probably a bit optimistic as there is nothing to photosynthesize.

Love that scene with miracle max. I used it to teach tree anatomy once. Amazing how well that quote fits with plants.

I only grow one Drac and my experience is that once it starts to go down hill, that's it. How did yours fare?
