I'll try to be brief... First I made sure to order in late September 2014 so the transition wouldn't stress it too much. That allowed me to have it outside with cooler weather but still w high humidity. That winter I kept it in my bathroom w a cool mist humidifier and the window open a little. Had many a cold shower but vampira was happy. Spring hit and I gradually put it outside again to enjoy the cool air and humidity. Summer was a challenge but I bought a small cooler that I would put in the fridge. Also bought some ice packs, froze them about 80% each day. I put the packs in the cooler and put just enough cold water in the bottom. The plant sat on the ice packs but not in the water. Misted with cool water every few hours and it survived temps in the 80s. Some days I just used the cooler at night to get good temp fluctuations. Days in the 70s it was fine hanging over a dish of water outside. The biggest help was the perfect outdoor temps we had this fall here. December was hugh humidity and temps 40 to 60. I just did a little homework and obsessively kept monitoring the conditions and it all came together. It literally doubled in size and kept spitting out leaves all summer. Rarely fertilized and always used bottled water. Sorry so verbose, hope that is helpful or at least gives someone a laugh.
