Default New Lepanthes telipogoniflora

I didn't know whether to post this in the terrarium forum or here, but since this will only ever have a single species of orchid in it, I chose here.

This is my new Lepanthis telipogoniflora from Andy's, now at home in its glass teardrop. There is a layer of PrimeAgra on the bottom, topped with a little sphagnum.

I left it on the stick because it's so tiny I was afraid to touch it. I hope it thrives!

Very nice! I left mine on the mount, too. The mount sits on LECA and there is water in the bottom so that there is good humidity and the roots are kept damp.

I don't know if you ever saw this old post but I have it bookmarked as a reference:

Thanks Leafmite- I thought I had read every thread about this species, but I missed that one! That's what I hope this plant will grow to look like.

That looks so cute in there!

I grew my first Lepanthes calodictyon in a similar way. Unfortunately I hung the bubble in the wrong place and it cooked when the heater came on in the winter. It had done well for 18 months growing that way before that though.

Could it be?!!! Could it really be a spike already?! I've had this plant for 10 days now. If this is a spike it was really really small when the plant came to me because I looked pretty carefully when it arrived.

I'm so super excited!

That's a new growth. Spikes emerge from the leaf base.

The new bit on my telipogoniflora is growing- the end is possibly looking a bit leafy now.

I'm still not entirely convinced this isn't a spike. It kind of looks like the stalk comes out of the base of the leaf above. It's so hard to see because of the angle and the size of the plant!

My second plant of this species arrived on Friday, and I put it into a glass bubble and will be bringing it to work tomorrow to keep me company at my desk.

I'm enchanted by this species, and I haven't even bloomed it yet!
