Default Blooming Masde and Dracuvallia

So I am so exited for my Dracuvallia this is first time blooming for me. I got it in November with this Masdevallia. The masde is blooming the second bloom for me on this same stem. I am not sure I can take credit as it came in bud on this stem but it aborted. Then this winter bloomed on it and now is have it's second on. All the stems it came with are still on it as they haven't died yet.

I will post another picture when the Dracuvallia opens fully.
Dracuvallia Mem. Maria Arcila
Masdevallia Redwing Redtail... the Redwing is more magenta colored. I just can't get colors right with my camera. I need to go shopping like RJ.

I'm not sure when I am going to put out the money yet. I have done a bit of looking before and I can't decide either. Nikon or Cannon. I'm guessing it won't matter that much as I am no expert. I just want to get good close ups and be able to get the color right.

Don't be too jealous, I'm only having mediocre luck with these. I haven't killed one YET, but most of my tips of my leaves gets black. I don't feed them very much so I don't see how that would be the problem.

I'm wondering if my early morning sun is the problem. However they seem to also do it in the winter when the sun doesn't shine on them. Last night I put them out on the porch.

My Dracuvallia is opening more and I will defiantly put up a picture when it does. It's looking very cooool

Congrats on the blooms! Can't wait to see more pics. Re, the camera. Just remember, when you shop for one and make your choice of Nikon or Cannon, you are sort of committing for the long haul as lenses between the two are not interchangeable. They are both very good brands with lots of options and other off name lenses too. But it is a commitment to brand that will cost $$ to switch later.

I really do wonder if it makes that much of a difference as you say they are both good brands. I have heard people talk about each one and how they like it. I need the easiest one to be able to operate. Do you mean you can get off name lenses to fit them/

Ok now down to business. I have gotten busy last week and didn't have time to post. I am in love with this bloom. It has another spike with a bud on it and I can see at least one other coming out of a leaf. I still have brown tips on the leaves. I also have been putting them outside some at night as it gets nice and cool for now.
