Masd. Memoria Henry Scarfield?
Hello folks!
On a recent trip to J&L Orchids I picked up this adorable Masd. I honestly can't remember what it looks like in bloom, and I can't find it on any register or google search--also its not listed on the J&L website.
I chose it for three reasons.... First, it looked really healthy, second, it had a spike, and lastly because the wonderful people at J&L told me this was an easier Masd. for my growing conditions.
Anyone know anything about it, I am guessing it will be orange from the almost open flower? I really don't know much about Masd. and this is my only one.

Masdevallia Memoria Henry Scardefield (veitchiana x corniculata), registered 1991 by J&L. Based on the parents, orange is likely, but could be deeper rusty red to magenta tones as well.

A good example of why I will always have OrchidWiz as long as I grow orchids...
OrchidWiz allows you to search on partial names. I figured Henry couldn't be spelled wrong. This is the only Masdevallia hybrid with Henry in the name, and clearly a match. It also listed the parents, of course, and the originator and registrant of the cross, year etc. There were no pictures of this cross, but many pictures of the parents, so easy to predict the color in this case.
There have been no awards, and there don't seem to be any pictures anywhere, so I'm guessing it has only had a limited distribution from J&L. It has not been used as a parent in any registered crosses, and there are only a few other hybrids with Masd. corniculata in the background, so you have something that isn't commonly seen.
We'll expect another picture when it is fully open.

I am guessing this is as open as its going to get? I am guessing that the shape is much more like the corniculata. These photos don't catch the true rust tone and orange. Its a cool looking flower, wish it were more open shaped like the veitchiana... but nonetheless still pretty cool!

Here is an updated photo just taken! You can see the color much more... Should I expect this flower to open more?

With the influence of the Masd. corniculata parent it is already more open than I might have expected. It gives it the rusty tones too.
