Restrepia brachypus - healthy or not?
Default Restrepia brachypus - healthy or not?

Can anyone tell me if this R. brachypus is happy? It seems awfully sparse but perhaps it is just because it is still young?

It has been getting dappled light in 70 F, 70% humidity since I got it just over a week ago.

That plant looks absolutely fine. I have a bunch of baby plants from my R. brachypus that look like that which are growing nicely and one even bloomed. Just make sure to keep the humidity up above 50 percent. They will try to grow but the leaves will be very deformed if the humidity is lower than that.

Another great little plant and yours look fine. All mine are on humidity trays with dappled light on south window that stays cooler in winter. I do find that new leaves can emerge somewhat wrinkled so I monitor my waterings and adjust accordingly. Some are in clay pots, others in plastic. Some in moss, others in fine bark. Keeps it interesting!

Looks good to me and great to see you've got a flower.

Mine was about that size when I first had it, I think yours will do fine.
