Funny, I do not grow Masdevallias, but would have tried moist, semi-shade and cool for this one, as it is more or less the environment where it grows..

That's cool! Where exactly are you from Colombia? I am from Guanare (the region of the Llanos)

Cali Colombia. My M. tovarensis may have been subjected to too much moisture and not enough light/air movement. So becareful.

I've acquired a couple of these. I've been reading at if I'm not wrong they like high humidity and cool temps. What's the best way to accomplish that. I can put them under t5's in my rock walled basement which stays cool but not very damp. Should I keep them under a tall plastic cover?(Like the ones I use for starting seeds.)If so, whats the best way to keep air flowing?
Thanks

I have mine growing on a windowsill - that works for me because our temps never really get too high, it gets plenty of fresh air, as the window stays open (or slightly cracked, depending on the weather) all year round. It doesn't seem to like staying wet for too long. I've finally got it into a clay pot where I can water/mist it in the mornings and it is mostly dry by night. Its growing in moss, and I found the trickiest part was getting the medium most but not wet. Once its at that 'magic' balance, its pretty easy to keep it there.

Let me see if I can get a photo... No more blooms, but the flower stalks have remained green - so they will flower again on the same set of stalks.

Since I have done so well with Dracula lotax, can anyone tell me if I will do OK with this guy? My temps are high 60s F day and low 60s F night and 600-800 FCs, 99% humidity and plenty of air movement. How's that for this guy?

Ross, that sounds good for a forest full of Pluerothallids. The only thing you are missing is the clouds.
Now what I want to know is how you managed to maintains that climate.

Simple Tindo --> It's in the bottom center. The basement gets down to 62 (max) at night and I run a through-wall fan to assure the tank dries out over night. Then in morning when lights turn on the humidity gets higher as does the temps over a 12 hour period (right now - 4:45 it's only 71 F down where the Dracula is but 99% humidity). My question, though, is on the Masde. I saw all the talk on cool, and wonder if I can do this? The Drac doesn't bloom in summer when temps slowly climb to 70s, but bloom well over winter.
