Pleurothallis dressleri growing tips
Pleurothallis dressleri - I though this may be interesting post about this amazing micro orchid. I have been lucky enough to get several plants in the past few years. My very first plant was mounted immediately on my hygrolon cylinder, and was the only one blooming for me so far three times in past two years. I later got another piece, that I mounted on piece of hygrolon liana and grow just sitting on the bottom of my vivarium, and there was tiny division of some 6 leaves that fall off so I did mount it on the top of my Pleurothallis driftwood (that has some 8 Pleuro species), this one is outside, in deep shade. I was not giving much chances to the piece on the driftwood since I always read dressleri loves constant moist conditions. Driftwood is misted every day (or every two days), and soaked some two times a week, but due to wind it dries out quickly, so dressleri is really dry for hours and hours a day! Not only this piece grows and tripled in size in past year +, but I found very first bud on it just today! To sum this long post, it seems dressleri can be grown both moist and dry, and does not mind it at all! (last two pictures show piece on liana and largest 100+ leave piece on hygrolon cylinder)
