Ok, I bought this plant as Barbosella cucullata, but it most certainly is not that! Anyone want to give a shot at what species it really is?

I wish I could get a closer shot, but I do not have a macro lens, yet...

Hope you guys like it!

Very nice, can't help with the ID though. I had purchased a B. cucullata that turned out to be B. geminata. Does anyone actually sell B. cucullatta?

Thanks! It's a nice little flower, but it's teeny tiny. I'm actually a little relieved that it's not cucullata since I read after purchasing that it is a cool to cold grower. Hopefully this one will like it warmer than that! I do with the flower was a little larger, though

I believe Ecuagenera offers the xanthina form and j&l includes a picture of cucullata for the one they sell. Where did you buy yours from? Mine was purchased second hand from Burnt Bridge Creek Nursery.

Hi, I got mine from Ecuagenera at an orchid show in the New York City.

Hmm, I don't think they list that one on their site or price list. Of course that list always changes, but I wonder if they realized that their plants were misidentified and removed or renamed it. Either way, geminata is a nice species!

I think the flower on mine may have opened further today. I'll try to get a few more shots of it once I get back home later today.

Thanks Shannon, I LOVE the growth form of this little guy. I just had to buy it when I saw it at a reptile expo last month!
