I grow all of my Pths palliolata in sphagnum moss in clay pots and repot every year. They do very well and bloom yearly. I don't like mounting plants, especially plants this big because it's difficult to keep them watered/moist enough.

Pths. palliolata prefers cool temperatures, bright light without direct sunlight. Excessive heat for extended periods (over 80 degrees F) will cause stress that is apparent in the leaves as spotting.

Keep it cool, moist and mist it for humidity unless the air is already humid.

Good luck with it, it's a lovely plant

Please be sure and pack the sphagnum in the pot lightly. If you push it in too firmly there will be no air pockets for the roots and they will die.

How large is this species? I've been thinking about getting one of these, but I prefer small plants.

The ones I have are about 6" or so above the pot. They aren't that big really. The leaves are about 4-5" long

I have several divisions and all of mine bloom 2 to 3 blooms simultaneously on each leaf

Oh OK, That's not a bad size at all. A little on the large side as my plants go, but smaller than I was expecting. I'm going to look in to it a little more before buying one, but it's definitely on my list now

What are you worried about, Aratz?

John
