Lepanthes telipogoniflora issue. - Orchid Board

Does anybody know of anything I could be doing that causes this issue?
My lepanthes will push out two buds, which get fused together. Which causes both buds to drop, and sometimes aborts the spike.
Here's a picture with a new and mature spike that are doing it.

My guess would be humidity. What's the humidity reading in there? My lepanthes saltatrix has 91% humidity according to my humidity monitor. The lowest it ever gets in there is around 72%

I don't have a great monitor.
Thanks for reminding me. I keep forgetting to get one every time I'm at the garden center.

The other thing I would be careful of is getting water on the buds when you mist. I had that issue with my Lepanthopsis Astrophora. I went to mist and it was hard to avoid the blooms because they are so tiny. I ended up having to take the plant out, mist the terrarium, then return it to its location in order to keep the blooms in tact. I'm kind of glad I didn't mount my plants directly on the support structure for them. I left them on the mounts they came on, and have attached those to the support structure with the wire hangers on the mounts instead.

Humidity is at 80.
I don't think I've ever recorded it below 70.

Thanks for the tip, but I don't mist this plant.
I will be getting an orchid soon that needs misting, so that's good to know ahead of time.

It's hard to answer, and there can be many factors, but in my opinion, it's something that can't be avoided much. The think is - many people say DO NOT MIST over buds, over spikes, over leaves, etc, well, guess what, in nature, when growing in situ, and the rain comes, everything is soaking wet, there is not "gentle" rain that would avoid spike/buds/leaves. I know it may cause issues, but how to avoid them, yes, you can try to mist or water very carefully and not hit the buds, sometimes this is nearly impossible, especially with micro and miniature orchids. I used to try, but don't do it anymore. I know I may be loosing some, but I treat them as they would grow wild, when it rains, even with misting bottle, it RAINS, all over the plant :-)

Never seen mine do that. Perhaps it's crowded where it is currently located? Can you move it?

I feel that way too...
But I water this one with an ear wax remover. So water literally never gets on the buds....
I'm almost tempted to buy another and see what happens. If they both do it its definitely me.

It's kinda by itself in the middle. At least to my eye. Does it look crowded?
And no. It's attached to the rock.
