Pleurothallis simmleriana
Pleurothallis simmleriana - really cute miniature from Colombia, I love the festive colors reminds me of the X-mas candy canes. Mounted on my Pleurothallis driftwood and grown outside in the shade year round.

Welcome John, this is the first time blooming for me, and I am in love with the color! Also fast establishing plant, it was mounted on the driftwood as a last addition only some month and half ago, roots already attaching!

Good to know, fast establishing is a very good thing. I have a tiny Pleurothallis spp. from Belize which seems to be taking forever to root, everything around it is already attached for the most part.
I had never heard of this species before now, is it difficult to source? After a *very* quick search, I didn't find it on any of the usual vendors' sites.

I guess not common from US vendors, but I hardly ever buy from them anymore now, they do not have species I am looking for in most cases, so I am getting 99% imports only. This one came from Colombia, Andrea from orquideas del valle brought it for me, she comes to the states for some shows through out the year, and she brings always top notch quality plants (incomparable with "other" South America vendors!!!) Very healthy!
