Ooooooo! What material is the brown, perforated fastener? Ceramic mount? How does the plant attach itself? Looks like wood tho. Miami magic!

Dea, ceramic mount is from my friend who makes them in Europe, the roots actually attach to it easily, and it also cools down the plant. I cut the piece of hygrolon material to tide it to the mount itself.

Surprisingly large flower for the plant size.

Wish there were ceramic mounts like that to be had cheaply around here -- would love to give one a try. Like the texture on yours ... looks like wood grain. If your friend was able to dye the material and rough it up, imagine it could look like a section of bark. Is the mount hollow?

:-) She made me much more, and smaller sizes for my miniatures. She asked me if I want them glazed with colors, but I do not care so much for the "real" wood look, more for functionality. I should get them sometimes this year, can't wait, different sizes and shapes. This one is not hollow Paul, it's pretty flat but she made it the shape of the wave actually. She produces some hollow as well, in the shape of small logs.
