Masdevallia aurea
Masdevallia aurea - Every time I have any Masdevallia blooming I am on cloud 9 :-) Grown inside in Miami in the tiny vase with other Masdies, in small plastic basket and pure sphagnum.

Yes I know what you mean. Even though my problem is not having the heat you have so you have to over come much more than I do. But it makes me so happy.
Mine don't seem to look like they should. But they are alive so I think that is something.

Shannon I think you should do good, as far as you provide high humidity. Try my setups - different glass orb or vases with stones and mosses inside, that should provide good humidity :-)

I may try it some day but for now I just got a humidifier and run it 24/7 right over the top of them. I would like to get those orbs and hang them above the 4 I have right now.
They are in my kitchen window but the sun was shining on them this summer first thing in the morning and that may be why they have bad tips on the leaves. Now that the sun has shifted it seems to have slowed. We will see if things change.

Shannom you can order these orbs from SB2 store online or Amazon has them too, just search for glass orbs.

Dea it is just small driftwood branch and some life moss around it, and it is sitting in shallow vase with lecca pebbles on the bottom. I mist it every morning.
