My first Masdevallia!
Hi!
I was bad today and bought another two orchids....Naughty Anna! Really need to curb this spending now!
It's quite a decent sized plant I suppose, for the money and the fact it's from the Botanical Gardens here, which usually overcharge! I haven't seen any for sale in any shops over here so snapped one of these up. This one had a few flowers but loads more on the way so seemed the best of the bunch!
I think it's cute!

Nice color!
I want to grow these but have always been afraid since I heard these are cool growers.

Great colour and form. Maybe it has one of the Saltatrices in its lineage?

Gorgeous, love that last picture.
I have a NoID that looks very similar, bought in a local garden center and just labeled Masdevallia. I wonder who sells them to Garden centers in the UK, it would be interesting to know as they might have more about what it is.
The leaves on this are a different texture/substance to my other Masdies. Thinner and broader than others. Your's looks to be similar so I would like to bet we've got the same one.
I think whatever this hybrid is it's more warmth tolerant than some of my others, the label even suggested it can be grown indoors. For the first few years I brought it in from the greenhouse each winter so it didn't go as cold as my others, but the last few years it's stayed out and got cold like the others.
It seems a vigorous grower, I think mine needs repotting again into a bigger pot.

Hey!
I managed to get an ID on this one from the guys at BellaVallia (Rollke Orchideen) and it's known as "Bellavallia BV Cayambe"
It reflowered a couple of months ago which was good!
