Anyone growing this species? What is your experience with this plant-How do you keep it happy? I have a chance to buy one tomorrow and I don't want to kill it.

Try this information.

Beware these are only plants temp guidelines. I assume that you can provide the needed humidity.

Hi Gregg - did you decide to get this plant? I believe it is a synonym for mine here
Pleurothallis species from Guatemala
(or what I believe it to be!). Don't know anything about growing up there in the frozen north, but it is a nice, attractive plant without flowers, not demanding, and the flowers were bright, attractive and scented, so no downside.
I mostly grow outside, and keep it in dappled sun, hose off most days. The past few days, of course, we are having arctic-like weather - brrrrr.
Cheers - Nancy

Default Yup, I got it along with a Dendrobium

for $15 each. Nice healthy plants, although I could not detect an odor with this one. Some of the folks from our society went to WOC and they are supposed to bring us back a few miniatures. Hopefully, they will have a really nice looking Lockhartia when they come back. We seem to do fairly well with Pleurothallids and Bulbophyllums, as long as they are ones that don't need an exceeding amount of water.

Ah, I also passed a few bucks to a pal going to WOC - I think it will be something like tossing a junkie into a room hip-deep in cocaine. I'm sure they are all filled with trepidation as to how they will be able to stop! Sounds like a stellar list of vendors and speakers for both WOC and the Tamiami festival. I hope some nice little things find their way back to me, too.
Lockhartias are a very pretty plant, too. They do like quite a bit of water, but not so much sun. I partially roased one, but it has recovered nicely. Very cute in bloom.
Good growing - Nancy
